2009 - 2010

Students from preschool through 5th grade had a great time at the Recycling Olympics. Organized and run by Sarah Alessio, the Environmental Program Specialist from the Pennsylvania Resources Council, the students learned about recycling in a hands-on fun way. It was a great way to spend an educational afternoon!

2008 - 2009

Word of God Students Go Tree Planting

On Saturday, November 15th, 18 students from Word of God Catholic School joined forces with Swissvale Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), the Swissvale Shade Tree Commission and the Nine Mile Run Organization to plant eight along McCague Street in Swissvale

Fine Dining

All students had the opportunity to experience fine dining! Lunch time was fine dining time, complete with full course meal and wait staff

Our Playground - Visit All 50 states in 1 minute

In September parent volunteers painted the map of the United States on our playgound!!!

2007 - 2008

2007-2008 Bethoven's Bookworms Perform at Barnes & Noble

Recently our Third and Fourth Graders, lead by Ms. Koontz, exhibited their musical talents and Mrs. Mentzer provided artwork to exhibit at Barnes & Noble in the Waterfront. Every child at Word of God School was represented at this one time only art exhibit and musical performance. If you were unable to attend watch this small sampling of the event!!

2008 - Iceburg is Principal of the Day

On Friday, March 14th, the Pittsburgh Penguins' Mascot, Iceburg, came to word of God School to be our Principal for the Day!!
